behind the art.
Heather Hicks is an Iowa-based artist whose work celebrates the beauty of the human form through bold, minimal compositions. Working with a finger or stylus on a digital canvas, each piece is built stroke by stroke — no shortcuts, no photo filtering. There is just enough detail to easily identify with what the figure is experiencing. What you see on your wall is exactly what Heather intended.
Her abstract work begins with acrylic on paper — loose, gestural, full of energy — then is scanned and refined digitally, bringing the warmth of traditional media into the clarity of a fine art print. Every piece in the studio is an original composition — available on a surface to be seen at its best including archival paper, canvas, acrylic glass, and metal (options vary by print).

Prints are not hand-signed as they ship directly from the printer, Finerworks. A certificate of authenticity is available as an optional add-on at checkout — confirming the artwork title and artist.
